Developed in association with the Open University here in the UK, CopyCatch Campus provides full automation of the monitoring process, with detailed reports on norms of similarity, and delivery of fully marked pairs in HTML format.

A single screen allows flexible choice of both search and reporting functions to create batch files for automated running, or simply to run a report.

CopyCatch Campus was developed in co-operation with the Open University, who had decided to use CopyCatch Gold but needed both to extend its capabilities to the handling of course sizes of thousands and to automate the whole process.

Comparing even 50 files requires 1225 pairwise comparisons. 2000 files requires 1,999,000 comparisons, so the problem was not a simple one. CopyCatch Campus provides a single input screen for course admininstrators to create a batch file for automated operation.

The screen allows entry of;

The user can either;

The program produces a report and a set of marked up pairs showing the sentence similarity in HTML format. The report contains;

This file can be used to send email reports to both adminstrators and course chairs. The Open University place the reports on a web page using parallel frames, to achieve the side-by-side effect of the full version of CopyCatch, but the use of the report and the HTML files is flexible.
